Position Overview
The HR Manager is responsible for supporting the day-to-day delivery of HR operations, with a strong focus on employee relations, labor compliance, performance management, employee documentation, and HR policies and procedures.
The role serves as a key point of contact for employees and people leaders on HR matters and helps ensure that employee concerns and disciplinary cases are handled consistently, fairly, and in accordance with company policies and Philippine labor laws.
The HR Supervisor will also provide guidance and oversight to members of the HR team and ensure that HR transactions, documentation, and employee records are completed accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Labor Compliance
Handle employee relations matters, including employee complaints, grievances, attendance concerns, behavioral issues, and workplace conflicts.
Support and manage disciplinary cases from incident documentation and Notice to Explain (NTE) through administrative conferences and issuance of decisions.
Ensure that disciplinary processes observe due process and are aligned with company policies and applicable Philippine labor laws.
Assist in managing sensitive and complex employee cases, including performance concerns, policy violations, and potential termination cases.
Prepare and review HR documentation such as NTEs, Notices of Decision, administrative case records, quitclaims, clearances, and other employment-related documents.
Support management in responding to labor-related concerns and DOLE/NLRC matters, as required.
Maintain complete and confidential documentation of employee relations cases.
HR Operations
Supervise day-to-day HR operations and ensure timely completion of employee transactions.
Maintain accurate and updated employee records and 201 files.
Manage employee movements, including regularization, promotions, transfers, changes in employment status, and separations.
Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
Monitor probationary employees and ensure timely performance evaluations and regularization decisions.
Ensure HR documentation, contracts, employee records, and company processes comply with legal and internal requirements.
Performance Management
Coordinate and monitor performance management activities and employee evaluation schedules.
Support managers in addressing performance gaps and developing appropriate Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
Ensure performance concerns are properly documented and communicated.
Work with managers to promote accountability and consistent application of performance standards.
Policies & Compliance
Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR policies and procedures.
Ensure HR practices comply with Philippine labor laws, DOLE requirements, company policies, and established HR standards.
Monitor compliance with company policies and recommend corrective or preventive actions when necessary.
Help communicate HR policies and changes to employees and managers.
Employee Engagement & HR Support
Serve as an accessible HR point of contact for employees and managers.
Support employee engagement, communication, and retention initiatives.
Help identify recurring employee concerns and recommend appropriate HR interventions.
Promote a professional, respectful, inclusive, and positive workplace culture.
Team Supervision
Provide day-to-day guidance and supervision to assigned HR team members.
Review the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of HR deliverables.
Coach junior HR team members and help strengthen their employee relations and HR operations capabilities.
Escalate significant employee relations, compliance, or organizational risks to HR leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, Behavioral Science, or a related field.
At least 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably with experience supervising or leading HR activities.
Strong hands-on experience in employee relations, disciplinary cases, HR operations, and labor compliance.
Working knowledge of the Philippine Labor Code, DOLE regulations, due process requirements, and general employment practices.
Experience preparing NTEs, Notices of Decision, PIPs, employee case documentation, and separation documents.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong judgment and ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee matters.
Highly organized and capable of managing multiple employee cases and HR priorities simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal skills and confidence working with employees and leaders at different organizational levels.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the BPO, IT, professional services, or similar fast-paced environment.
Experience supporting remote or geographically dispersed employees.
Exposure to DOLE/NLRC cases, labor disputes, or administrative proceedings.
Experience supervising HR staff or HR operations.
