About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
We are seeking Remote Part-Time Nurse Practitioners to become a part of our team! We are a national preventive medicine practice focused on heart health and diabetes, with all services delivered remotely via telemedicine. The practice is led by a nationally recognized physician who served as the former Department Chair of Preventive Medicine at Johns Hopkins. The NP will receive extensive training in the latest Metabolic Health protocols for the prevention and treatment of chronic disease.
PrevMed Health — Nurse Practitioner (Remote, Multi-State Licensure)
Role summary:
Our Nurse Practitioner will serve as a core clinical provider within a national preventive cardiometabolic practice. The work is primarily asynchronous: reviewing labs, updating care plans, prescribing, ordering imaging, and managing clinical follow-up. You collaborate closely with our physicians and health coaches while maintaining strong independent clinical judgment, with physician collaboration available for complex cases per state requirements.
The practice is not urgent care, aesthetics, or traditional primary care; it is focused on preventive medicine. The NP role requires strong clinical reasoning, comfort managing cardiometabolic risk, and commitment to longitudinal prevention.
Core Responsibilities:
Asynchronous review of labs, imaging, and clinical data; generate concise, actionable patient updates.
Develop and adjust care plans consistent with PrevMed clinical frameworks (lipid management, inflammation control, insulin resistance management, plaque stabilization).
Write prescriptions, refills, and standing orders aligned with the state scope of practice.
Order labs and imaging: OGTT, advanced lipids, ApoB, Lp(a), CAC, CIMT, metabolic panels, hormone panels.
Provide clinical oversight for health coaches; clarify medical questions and guide care escalation.
Maintain compliant, precise, and high-quality documentation in the EHR.
Conduct telehealth follow-ups when synchronous visits are required (semiannual or annual).
Participate in weekly case reviews and clinical quality improvement meetings.
Ensure interstate practice compliance across all licensed states.
Contribute to clinical protocols, care pathways, and evidence updates.
Role Structure:
Fully remote, primarily asynchronous care with periodic synchronous visits required.
National practice: preference for NPs licensed in 3+ states (5+ strongly preferred) or willing to expand licensure.
Minimum Requirements
Active NP license in at least ten U.S. states; strong preference for multi-state licensure (compact states ideal).
2+ years of experience in one or more: cardiology, endocrinology, primary care, functional medicine, lifestyle medicine.
Strong clinical foundation in preventive care and chronic disease management; advanced lipidology experience welcomed but not required (training provided).
Ability to manage asynchronous clinical operations reliably and autonomously, with appropriate physician collaboration for complex cases per state requirements.
High-level written communication, clinical reasoning, and EHR discipline.
Comfort working in a fully remote telemedicine environment; prior telemedicine experience preferred but not required.
Who Thrives Here
A medical professional who:
Prefers depth over volume.
Enjoys pattern recognition in labs and longitudinal cardiometabolic trajectories.
Is meticulous with documentation and able to work independently to accomplish clinical goals and documentation requirements.
Values prevention over episodic care and wants the autonomy of remote work while maintaining access to physician collaboration.
