Quality Control Manager (Mission Critical)

The Quality Control Manager (QCM) is responsible for overseeing and implementing the QA/QC program for large-scale, hyperscale, and colocation data center construction projects. In the mission-critical sector, a "zero-defect" mentality is required. The QCM ensures that all architectural, structural, and highly complex MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems are installed, tested, and commissioned according to strict client specifications, industry standards, and contract documents.
Overview
Develop, implement, and maintain the project-specific Quality Control Plan (QCP) in alignment with corporate standards and client requirements.
Conduct the Three Phases of Control (Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-up meetings/inspections) for all definable features of work.
Lead site quality walks, identifying non-conforming work and ensuring immediate and proper corrective action is taken.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent field experience).
7+ years of commercial construction experience, with a minimum of 3+ years specifically serving as a QA/QC Manager on Data Center or Mission Critical projects.
Proven track record of successfully delivering projects with complex MEP scopes and rigorous commissioning requirements.
Manage the submittal review process to ensure materials and equipment meet project specifications before installation.
Maintain accurate, real-time QA/QC logs, daily reports, inspection records, and testing results using construction management software (e.g., Procore, BIM360).
Manage the punch list process, driving items to rapid closure prior to facility turnover.
Ensure compliance with all local building codes, NFPA, NEC, and ASHRAE standards.
