Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Application Support Engineer role based in Chennai. The Application Support Engineer will provide technical and functional support for clinical and life sciences applications, including monitoring system performance, responding to incidents, and resolving user-reported issues within agreed service levels. Responsibilities include diagnosing and troubleshooting application errors, performing root cause analysis, coordinating with development and infrastructure teams for fixes, and supporting deployments, upgrades, and configuration changes. The role involves documenting solutions, maintaining knowledge bases, preparing support reports, and contributing to process improvements that enhance application reliability and user experience. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and end users, ensuring clear communication, timely resolution, and adherence to quality and compliance standards.
Qualifications
Strong Application Support skills, including incident management, user support, and familiarity with enterprise or clinical applications.
Technical Support capabilities, such as working with databases, logs, APIs, and basic scripting or automation tools.
Demonstrated Analytical Skills for diagnosing complex issues, performing root cause analysis, and interpreting technical and functional requirements.
Proficient Troubleshooting skills across application, configuration, and integration layers.
Effective Communication skills for interacting with technical teams, business stakeholders, and end users, both verbally and in writing.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Experience in life sciences, clinical research, or regulated environments (GxP) is an advantage.
Familiarity with ticketing systems, ITIL practices, and service level management is beneficial.
Ability to work collaboratively, manage priorities in a fast-paced setting, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
