Associate Manager - Capital Projects Management

Accenture is looking for an experienced Capital Projects Management professional to support and oversee project planning, scheduling, risk assessment, cost management, and project controls for power generation, transmission, distribution, and low-carbon grid capital projects. The role requires strong experience in project controls, Primavera P6/MS Project, cost management, risk assessment, schedule management, and stakeholder coordination within the power utility or EPC environment.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
Create Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), project activities, logic links, milestones, and dependencies.
Establish project baselines and manage schedule updates, revisions, and re-baselining.
Monitor project progress, critical path activities, milestones, and overall schedule performance.
Conduct schedule health checks, variance analysis, delay analysis, and recovery planning.
Support resource loading, forecasting, and productivity monitoring.
Develop and analyse S-curves and Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics, including CPI and SPI.
Perform project risk identification, assessment, mitigation planning, and monitoring.
Support cost estimation, cost control, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Prepare weekly, monthly, and executive-level project performance reports and dashboards.
Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineering teams, contractors, and key stakeholders for schedule and progress inputs.
Identify schedule risks, constraints, delays, and opportunities and recommend mitigation actions.
Support governance reviews, stage-gate approvals, and change-control processes.
Maintain project controls documentation, planning procedures, and project planning standards.
Requirements:
10-14 years of experience in Power Utility / EPC / Transmission & Distribution / Power Generation projects.
BE/B. Tech in Electrical Engineering.
Strong experience in Project Controls and Capital Project Management.
Hands-on experience with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
Strong knowledge of project scheduling and critical path analysis.
Experience in risk assessment and mitigation planning.
Experience in cost estimation, cost control, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Strong knowledge of WBS, project baselines, milestones, dependencies, and schedule management.
Experience with S-curves, EVM, CPI, and SPI.
Strong proficiency in MS Excel and Excel-based cost models.
Knowledge of power-sector regulatory frameworks such as CEA, CERC, and State Utilities.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, coordination, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification or qualification in Project Management / Risk Management / Cost Control.
Experience working on large-scale capital projects.
Exposure to low-carbon grid, renewable energy, transmission, distribution, or utility modernisation projects.
Experience with project governance, stage-gate processes, and change management.
