Role Description The Advocate will work full time on-site at PAN Law Associates in Kolkata, handling a range of litigation and advisory matters. Daily responsibilities include drafting petitions, agreements, and legal opinions; reviewing case files and supporting documents; and conducting legal research on statutes, case laws, and regulatory updates. The role involves appearing before courts and tribunals, coordinating with clients and colleagues, and preparing case strategies under the guidance of senior advocates. The Advocate will also assist in maintaining case records, managing deadlines, and ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with procedural requirements.
Qualifications
Strong skills in legal drafting, documentation, and case file management.
Proficiency in legal research, including statutory interpretation and analysis of case law.
Ability to appear before courts and tribunals, with confident oral advocacy and courtroom etiquette.
Effective client communication skills, including the ability to explain legal issues in clear, simple language.
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized institution; enrollment with the Bar Council.
Familiarity with civil and/or criminal procedures, and relevant local and national laws.
Capacity to work collaboratively in a team, handle multiple matters, and manage time and deadlines.
Basic computer literacy, including use of legal databases, word processing, and document management tools.
Prior internship or practice experience in litigation or law firm settings is an advantage.
