Public Relations Manager

At Vicara PR, we work with banks, NBFCs, fintechs, AMCs, wealth firms and companies on the road to listing. In this space, strong media relationships are what make the work succeed. We're looking for a PR Manager who has built those relationships and knows how to use them well.

Vicara PR is a Mumbai-based communications agency that crafts stories connecting brands with their audiences and strengthening their reputation. We specialise in media relations, thought leadership, strategic communications, crisis management, and digital PR, with a sharp focus on financial services.
The role
This is a full-time, on-site role in Mumbai. You will:
Own media relations for a portfolio of BFSI clients: pitching stories, securing interviews, bylines and features in business and financial media
Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with business journalists, editors and TV producers across print, digital and broadcast
Plan and execute PR strategies around results, funding rounds, product launches, regulatory developments and leadership visibility
Draft press releases, media statements, briefing notes, Q&As and thought-leadership articles
Coordinate and prepare spokespersons for interviews and media briefings
Monitor coverage and report on outcomes that matter to clients
Support crisis and issues communication with speed and sound judgement
Work closely with clients and internal teams to shape messaging that is accurate, compliant and newsworthy
What we're looking for
2-4 years of experience in a PR agency or corporate communications, with hands-on exposure to BFSI clients (banking, NBFC, fintech, insurance, mutual funds, capital markets)
Strong, active media relationships with business and financial journalists. This is the most important thing we're hiring for.
A working understanding of financial markets and of the regulatory sensitivities of the space, such as SEBI and RBI guidelines, quiet periods, and disclosure norms
Excellent written communication: you can turn a complex financial update into a story a journalist wants to run
Confidence in managing multiple client accounts, with strong organisation and follow-through
Comfort in a fast-paced, on-site, collaborative environment
