Role Description This is a full-time, on-site AI Research Scientist role based in Chennai. The person in this role will design and conduct experiments in machine learning and pattern recognition, develop and evaluate novel models and algorithms, and analyze complex datasets to derive actionable insights. Daily work includes reviewing current literature, formulating research questions, building prototypes, running simulations, and documenting findings for technical and non-technical stakeholders. The AI Research Scientist will collaborate with engineering and product teams to transition research outputs into scalable solutions, write research reports or publications, and contribute to long-term research roadmaps. The role also involves mentoring junior team members, maintaining high standards of reproducibility, and continuously improving methods based on empirical results.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software engineering practices.
Expertise in Data Science and Statistics for experimental design, model evaluation, and quantitative analysis.
Hands-on experience in Pattern Recognition and machine learning, including feature engineering and model optimization.
Demonstrated Research skills, such as literature review, hypothesis formulation, experimental design, and technical documentation.
Proficiency with relevant programming languages and tools (e.g., Python, R, TensorFlow, PyTorch, SQL or similar).
Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Experience with real-world data pipelines, cloud computing platforms, and version control systems is beneficial.
Interest in ethical and responsible AI development, including fairness, transparency, and reliability of models.
