Role Description The JR GTM Engineer is a full-time, remote role responsible for supporting the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Google Tag Manager (GTM) and related tracking solutions across client websites and marketing campaigns. On a day-to-day basis, this role configures tags, triggers, and variables in GTM, assists in setting up analytics and conversion tracking for platforms such as Google Analytics and Google Ads, and validates data accuracy using browser debugging tools. The JR GTM Engineer collaborates with marketing strategists, PPC specialists, and developers to translate tracking requirements into technical implementations that support performance reporting and attribution. This role also contributes to documentation of tracking setups, monitors tag performance, and helps troubleshoot tracking issues to ensure reliable, privacy-compliant data collection.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess foundational skills in web analytics and tag management, including familiarity with Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics (GA4), and basic tracking concepts (events, conversions, parameters).
Candidates should possess technical skills related to implementation, such as basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and the ability to use browser developer tools for debugging and validation.
Candidates should possess skills in data and performance analysis, including interpreting metrics, understanding funnels and attribution, and supporting data-driven decision-making for marketing campaigns.
Candidates should possess collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with marketing, design, and development teams, translate non-technical requirements into technical tasks, and document tagging setups clearly.
Candidates should possess strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, including attention to detail, structured troubleshooting, and the capacity to manage multiple tracking tasks in a remote environment.
Relevant qualifications that would be beneficial include prior experience in digital marketing or performance marketing, familiarity with PPC platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Ads), understanding of consent and privacy considerations (e.g., GDPR, cookie consent), and completion of courses or certifications in analytics or tag management.
