# AI & Engineering Data Intern
## About the Role
Siemens Digital Industries Software is seeking an **AI & Engineering Data Intern** to support emerging **Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI, and Digital Thread** initiatives within the Capital PreSales organization. This Spring 2027 Strategic Student Program opportunity provides hands-on experience applying AI and data technologies to real-world engineering challenges across the aerospace, defense, and automotive industries.
The role combines **engineering, software, data management, analytics, and AI** to develop engineering datasets, investigate AI-assisted workflows, build reusable data models, and support customer-facing demonstrations and internal capabilities. Successful candidates will be students who are interested in applying emerging technologies to practical engineering problems and working collaboratively in a fully remote environment.
## Key Responsibilities
* Develop and curate engineering datasets for AI, analytics, and demonstration use cases.
* Support AI and Generative AI proof-of-concepts involving engineering and Digital Thread data.
* Assist in connecting systems, software, and electrical engineering information into reusable data models.
* Evaluate and document AI-assisted engineering workflows and use cases.
* Build dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate engineering insights.
* Support technical enablement activities and customer demonstration development.
* Apply data, software, and AI technologies to engineering challenges and Digital Thread initiatives.
## Required Qualifications
* Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at an accredited university.
* Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in **Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline**.
* Experience with **Python, data analytics, machine learning, or AI technologies**.
* Comfortable working in a fully remote environment within the United States.
* Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future company sponsorship.
* Minimum **3.0 GPA**.
* Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
* Passion for applying emerging technologies to real-world engineering challenges.
## Preferred Qualifications
* Familiarity with **digital engineering, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), or engineering data management concepts**.
* Exposure to AI-assisted engineering workflows, Digital Thread concepts, or Generative AI proof-of-concepts.

## Compensation & Benefits
**Pay:** $18–$50 per hour, based on projected graduation year.
