About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
Mission Help every consumer maximize the value of every rupee they spend.
Every purchase has a hidden value. Consumers rarely capture it because rewards, coupons, loyalty programs, gift cards, and payment methods are fragmented across dozens of platforms.
Onpoint exists to aggregate and optimize this hidden value.
Company Description Onpoint is a rewards platform that helps shoppers earn extra benefits on top of existing credit card rewards or cash/UPI spends when purchasing from over 500 brands via its website, app, or browser extension. Users accumulate Onpoints on everyday transactions and can convert them to gift vouchers from more than 100 brands at a 1:1 ratio. These vouchers are redeemable across flights, hotels, shopping, bill payments, food, and grocery merchants, offering flexible value to customers.
Role Description This is a full-time, remote Senior Software Engineer role. The Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain scalable services that power Onpoint’s rewards platform and integrations with partner brands. The role involves collaborating closely with founders
Qualifications & Responsibilities
Track record of complexity, not tenure: Has built and shipped meaningfully complex systems before — we care about what you've built, not how many years you've been doing it
Ownership & autonomy: Takes full ownership of projects from design through deployment; comfortable making decisions and executing independently with minimal oversight
Code quality mindset: Leaves the codebase better than they found it — refactors opportunistically, reduces tech debt, and doesn't just patch around problems
Pragmatic tradeoffs: Knows when "good enough" is the right call; ships working solutions under time pressure instead of over-engineering or chasing perfect abstractions
Humility: Seeks and welcomes feedback, gives credit generously, and doesn't need to be the smartest person in the room to be effective
Mentorship: Actively coaches and levels up junior engineers through code review, pairing, and knowledge-sharing — without needing to be asked
Communication: Explains technical tradeoffs clearly to non-engineers; comfortable talking directly to product, design, or customers without a layer of translation in between
Hands-on execution: Prioritizes shipping and building over strategy decks or long-term roadmapping — this is a builder role, not a thought-leadership or architecture-only position
