Role Description The Fashion Designer will work full time on-site in the Greater Ahmedabad Area, contributing to the development of original apparel and accessory concepts aligned with NIF Global Ahmedabad’s creative standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include sketching designs, selecting fabrics and trims, planning collections, and creating detailed technical specifications for production. The role involves collaborating with faculty, students, and production teams to oversee sample development, fittings, and final adjustments to ensure high-quality outcomes. The Fashion Designer will research trends, colors, and materials, integrate embroidery and textile techniques, and help prepare designs for fashion shows, exhibitions, and academic projects. Additional responsibilities may include mentoring students, maintaining design archives, and supporting promotional and showcase events.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Fashion Design and Fashion concepts, including trend research and collection development.
Proficiency in Embroidery and decorative techniques for garments and accessories.
Hands-on experience with Textiles, fabric selection, and material properties.
Skilled in Fitting, garment construction, and pattern adjustments to achieve desired silhouettes and comfort.
Diploma or degree in Fashion Design or a related field from a recognized institution.
Ability to sketch by hand and/or use digital design tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD for fashion).
Strong attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to work on multiple projects with tight timelines.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with faculty, students, and production partners.
Prior experience in fashion education, studio work, or industry internships is an advantage.
