Job Summary
The Demand Planner is responsible for leading demand planning activities and actively contributing to the global Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process for our Weller Tools brand. The role partners closely with Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Finance, Supply Planning, Customer Service, and Operations to develop an aligned consensus demand plan, identify risks and opportunities, and provide the forecasts, analyses, and performance data required for cross-functional business reviews and decision-making. The position supports assigned regions, product portfolios, and business segments while driving forecast quality, customer service, inventory health, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Demand Review meetings and drive the development and maintenance of consensus demand forecasts using statistical forecasting, historical demand, commercial inputs, market trends, promotions, new product introductions, end-of-life activities, and portfolio changes
Own and monitor demand planning performance, including forecast accuracy and bias, and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement
Actively participate in the monthly global S&OP process by preparing and communicating demand forecasts, assumptions, scenarios, performance metrics, risks, opportunities, and recommendations for cross-functional reviews and management decision-making
Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Finance, Supply Planning, Customer Service, and Operations to establish and maintain an aligned consensus demand plan
Analyze demand trends, order patterns, open orders, inventory information, and business drivers to identify planning gaps, risks, opportunities, and required actions
Coordinate demand planning activities for product launches, new product introductions, end-of-life transitions, promotions, large orders, and product rationalization
Maintain and improve planning processes, forecasting methodologies, master data, and planning system inputs within Kinaxis and SAP
Prepare and present demand planning analyses and KPI reporting, document resulting actions, assign owners, and follow up on completion
Critical Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, Analytics, or a related technical or analytical field
At least 3 years of experience in Demand Planning, Forecasting, S&OP, Supply Chain Planning, Sales, Marketing, or a related discipline
Previous S&OP experience in a high-volume forecasting or multinational manufacturing environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights
Experience with Kinaxis Maestro / RapidResponse and SAP preferred; advanced MS Excel skills required
Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or comparable reporting and analytics tools is an advantage.
Willingness to travel up to 10-15% as required
Fluent English required; good German skills preferred
