# AI Training Software Engineer – MCP Environments
## About the Role
micro1 is seeking an experienced software engineer to work as a **contractor** supporting the training of next-generation AI systems. You will apply your software engineering expertise and domain knowledge to create high-quality reinforcement learning environments that evaluate AI models on complex software engineering tasks.
The work focuses on building environments that test an AI model's ability to use **Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools**, discover and reason over information from real MCP servers, and solve software engineering problems. Tasks may include fixing bugs, implementing features, refactoring code, and optimizing performance. You will create reproducible environments, deterministic verification, and golden reference solutions that accurately evaluate both MCP tool usage and software engineering capabilities.
## Key Responsibilities
* Create reinforcement learning environments for AI software engineering systems.
* Design environments that evaluate AI models on complex software engineering problems using MCP tools.
* Build tasks involving bug fixes, feature implementation, code refactoring, and performance optimization.
* Enable AI agents to discover and reason over information from real MCP servers.
* Design reproducible software engineering environments.
