# QA Team Lead – Manual Testing & Test Automation
## About the Role
CGM is a leading provider of healthcare software, operating in 19 countries with more than 9,000 employees. We are looking for an experienced QA Team Lead to lead and strategically develop our manual QA and test automation team while contributing to innovative healthcare technology.
In this role, you will define and advance a scalable test automation strategy across all testing levels, work closely with Engineering and Product Management, and establish Shift-Left, Automation-First, and risk-based testing practices. You will combine technical expertise with people leadership and drive the effective use of AI-assisted test automation to improve the efficiency, robustness, and scalability of QA processes.
## Key Responsibilities
* Provide functional and disciplinary leadership for the manual QA and test automation team.
* Strategically develop the QA and test automation team and its capabilities.
* Define a future-oriented test automation strategy across unit, integration, system, performance, and stress testing.
* Work with Engineering and Product Management to balance delivery capability, quality, and risk.
* Establish Shift-Left, Automation-First, and risk-based testing as integral parts of development processes.
* Design and further develop scalable test frameworks, test harnesses, and CI/CD integrations.
* Drive AI-assisted test automation using tools such as Claude Code or comparable AI agents for test generation, maintenance, and triage.
* Establish reusable QA standards, skills, and workflows to improve efficiency, robustness, and scalability.
* Develop team members and promote technical excellence across the QA organization.
* Contribute technical expertise to the QA community.
## Required Qualifications
* Successfully completed degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Informatics, or a comparable technical field.
* Several years of experience leading teams in QA and test automation.
* Practical experience with load, stress, and performance testing.
* Strong technical expertise and hands-on experience in test automation.
* Ability to develop and lead an experienced QA team both technically and professionally.
* Good programming skills in at least one modern programming language, such as C#, Java, Python, or TypeScript.
* Experience establishing quality practices within agile development processes, including Shift-Left, risk-based testing, and Automation-First approaches.
* Strong German and English communication skills, both written and spoken.
* Initiative, solution-oriented thinking, innovation, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
* Strong quality awareness and understanding of the responsibility associated with patient safety.
## Preferred Qualifications
* C# experience is preferred.
* Successful previous use of AI in a QA environment.
* Experience with Claude Code or comparable agentic AI tools.
