About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Intern to join our finance department. In this role, you will work directly with our corporate finance team, handling essential data management, tracker maintenance, process documentation, and administrative finance workflows. This position offers a direct look into the financial operations of a fast-growing, venture-backed startup—covering everything from day-to-day reconciliation to audit and investor reporting preparation.
Key Responsibilities
Expense & Data Reconciliation: Follow up with internal teams to gather monthly expense invoices, review line-item details, and assist in verifying monthly expense categorizations.
Process Documentation: Draft and maintain SOPs for recurring finance workflows (expense reconciliation, close checklist, vendor onboarding, etc.), working with the finance team to capture and standardize current practices.
Audit & Due Diligence Support: Assist in compiling, formatting, and organizing financial documents, schedules, and agreements required for statutory corporate audits and investor due diligence processes.
Tracker & Sheet Maintenance: Maintain routine financial trackers, update asset schedules, and help organize historical financial datasets.
Investor & Compliance Documentation: Assist in gathering initial inputs for routine investor reporting updates and organizing compliance-related paperwork (e.g., tax, insurance, or statutory filings).
Financial Research: Conduct basic market research on banking tools, vendor cost structures, and corporate financial service alternatives to support cost-optimization decisions.
Qualifications
Education: Completed Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or MBA (Finance).
Availability: Able to commit to the full internship duration of [4 months] without interruption.
Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and clean data formatting) is mandatory.
Core Concepts: Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L), and expense categorization.
Preferred: Prior exposure to writing SOPs or process documentation.
Soft Skills
Meticulous attention to detail and high data accuracy.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-team coordination.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive financial information.
