Role Description The Home Textile Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing and developing designs for home textiles such as bed linens, cushions, curtains, and other soft furnishings. Day-to-day tasks include creating design concepts, preparing detailed patterns and colorways, collaborating with product and production teams, and aligning designs with brand guidelines and market trends. The role involves researching textile trends, materials, and techniques, preparing design presentations, and coordinating with vendors or manufacturers on samples and final products. The designer will also support quality checks for prints, fabrics, and finishes to ensure consistency and durability. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in textile and surface design, including pattern development, color theory, and composition.
Candidates should possess proficiency with design and visualization tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD for textiles, or similar software).
Candidates should possess knowledge of fabrics, weaving, printing techniques, and basic production processes for home textiles.
Candidates should possess research and trend analysis abilities to interpret market preferences and translate them into commercially viable designs.
Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, the ability to follow brand guidelines, and a focus on quality and consistency.
Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and external partners.
A diploma or degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Interior Design, or a related field is preferred; relevant industry experience in home textiles is an advantage.
Candidates should possess the ability to work on-site in Mumbai, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements.
