Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled 3D Artist to create high-quality, realistic, and optimized 3D content for augmented reality, virtual reality, and real-time applications. The ideal candidate should combine strong artistic ability with a solid understanding of performance requirements for immersive platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Create high-quality 3D models, environments, props, products, and characters.
- Produce photorealistic renders with accurate materials, textures, lighting, reflections, shadows, and composition.
- Develop PBR textures and materials suitable for both realistic rendering and real-time applications.
- Optimize models, polygon counts, textures, UVs, and materials for mobile AR, VR headsets, and other target platforms.
- Handle UV unwrapping, texturing, baking, retopology, and LOD creation.
- Set up lighting and rendering for product visualization, architectural scenes, and immersive environments.
- Import, configure, and test 3D assets in Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Collaborate with developers, designers, and project managers to meet technical and visual requirements.
- Maintain organized project files and follow established asset pipelines and naming conventions.
- Revise assets based on client and internal feedback while meeting project deadlines.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in Blender, Autodesk Maya, or 3ds Max.
- Hands-on experience with Substance 3D Painter, Photoshop, or similar texturing tools.
- Strong expertise in photorealistic modeling, PBR texturing, lighting, shading, and rendering.
- Ability to reproduce products, spaces, and materials accurately from photographs, CAD files, drawings, or reference images.
- Understanding of real-time optimization, including polygon budgets, texture atlases, draw calls, LODs, and efficient materials.
- Experience preparing and integrating assets for Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Good knowledge of composition, color, scale, anatomy, and visual storytelling.
- Familiarity with standard formats such as FBX, OBJ, GLB/GLTF, USD, and CAD-derived assets.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with architectural visualization, product visualization, or digital twins.
- Knowledge of sculpting tools such as ZBrush.
- Experience with rigging, animation, motion capture, or character pipelines.
- Familiarity with ARKit, ARCore, WebAR, Meta Quest, or other XR platforms.
- Experience with rendering tools such as V-Ray, Corona, Cycles, Arnold, or Unreal Engine.
- Basic understanding of CAD cleanup and conversion workflows.
- Familiarity with version-control systems such as Git or Perforce.
Portfolio Requirement
Applicants must submit a portfolio or showreel demonstrating:
- Photorealistic renders and realistic material work.
- Real-time optimized 3D models and environments.
- Wireframes, topology, UV layouts, and texture breakdowns.
- Before-and-after optimization examples, where available.
- AR/VR, gaming, product visualization, or architectural visualization projects.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has a strong eye for realism and can produce visually convincing renders without compromising the performance requirements of AR/VR applications. They should be comfortable working independently, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, incorporating feedback, and managing multiple projects within deadlines.
