We’re looking for a detail-oriented, analytical, and organized Junior Data Engineer to support data engineering, data processing, data pipelines, database management, reporting, and day-to-day data activities. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working with data, building data solutions, solving technical problems, maintaining data quality, and supporting business decisions in a fully remote environment.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
Support day-to-day data engineering and data management activities
Collect, organize, process, and transform data from internal and external sources
Assist with building, maintaining, and monitoring data pipelines
Support the development and maintenance of ETL and ELT processes
Assist with database design, data integration, and data migration activities
Write and maintain SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis
Review data for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and quality
Identify and investigate data quality issues and discrepancies
Assist with data validation, cleansing, transformation, and standardization
Monitor data pipelines, workflows, and scheduled data processes
Assist with troubleshooting data pipeline and database issues
Maintain accurate and organized technical documentation
Support data warehouse and data lake activities when required
Assist with preparing datasets for analytics, reporting, and business intelligence
Help maintain databases, data platforms, cloud environments, and data engineering tools
Collaborate with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Software Engineers, DevOps, and other internal teams
Follow company data security policies, procedures, and best practices
Identify opportunities to improve data processes, workflows, performance, and reliability
Support special data engineering projects and other duties as assigned
✅ Requirements
Entry-Level / Junior candidates are welcome to apply
0–3+ years of experience in data engineering, software development, database management, data analytics, or a related field
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field is a plus but not required
Basic understanding of databases, data structures, ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and data processing
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Proficiency with SQL and familiarity with Python or another programming language
Familiarity with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or similar is a plus
Familiarity with cloud platforms, data warehouses, APIs, Git, or data engineering tools is a plus
Ability to work with large datasets and identify data quality issues
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to explain technical and data-related concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with distributed teams
Professional, dependable, and results-oriented attitude
Willingness to learn new data engineering technologies, tools, and platforms
Relevant data engineering, cloud, database, or technical certification is a plus but not required
Fluent in English
Based in Germany and legally authorized to work in Germany
Able to work effectively in a fully remote environment
Reliable internet connection and suitable home office setup
