Coal Technician (Carmichael)

Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:
Execute precise sampling, preparation, analysis, and reporting procedures while maintaining the highest accuracy standards
Deliver all work on schedule with meticulous attention to detail and quality assurance
Maintain complete traceability and integrity of all samples throughout the testing process
Proactively support the maintenance and optimal performance of lab and prep equipment
Champion a safety-first culture by identifying hazards and promoting best practices across the team
Foster seamless communication and knowledge transfer with incoming and outgoing shift teams
Take ownership by immediately flagging unsafe or faulty equipment and escalating concerns
Conduct routine sampling, preparation, and analysis for shipping and exploration initiatives
Strategically plan daily tasks, coordinate sample logistics, and optimize testing schedules

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Experience in coal sampling, preparation and testing, or within a mineral laboratory environment (preferred but not essential)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Availability to work a 7/7 rotating day and night roster
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team in remote locations
A current Australian manual driver's licence (preferred)
Current Standard 11 certification
The ability to meet pre-employment medical and fitness-for-work requirements
