Store Manager

About the Role:
As the Store Manager, you'll be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the store, inspiring a high-performing team, and fostering a positive, customer-focused culture. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll drive sales and operational performance while delivering an exceptional customer experience. Reporting to the Area Manager, you'll play a key role in achieving business objectives and creating an environment where both team members and customers thrive.
Key responsibilities include:
Health & Safety
Champion a strong safety-first culture by promoting safe work practices, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, proactively identifying and reporting risks, and engaging your team in safety initiatives.
Financial & Operational Performance
Drive profitable store performance through effective management of sales, budgets, margins, inventory, and rostering. Utilise business reporting, scorecards, and workforce management tools to maximise results, control costs, and minimise loss.
Leadership & Sales Growth
Lead by example and bring the Autobarn values to life every day. Inspire, motivate, and empower your team to achieve sales targets, deliver operational excellence, and provide outstanding customer service.
Store Presentation & Standards
Ensure the consistent execution of retail processes, visual merchandising standards, promotional activity, and store presentation, creating a welcoming and engaging shopping experience for every customer.
People Development & Culture
Build and develop a passionate, capable team by recruiting for values, coaching performance, recognising success, and creating opportunities for growth. Foster an inclusive, collaborative culture that encourages accountability, engagement, and service excellence.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
Proven leadership experience as a Store Manager or senior retail leader, ideally within automotive, specialty retail, or a large-format retail environment.
Strong people leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
A commercial and results-driven mindset, with experience delivering sales growth, achieving KPIs, and managing store performance.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships with customers, team members, and key stakeholders.
A values-led and collaborative approach, with the adaptability to lead change, inspire others, and create a positive team culture.
A strong commitment to workplace health, safety, compliance, and risk management, ensuring a safe and productive environment for both customers and team members.
