Role Description The Business Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for driving growth and expanding Ingrain’s client base across architecture, urban design, and related sectors. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with developers, corporate clients, government bodies, and partners, and nurturing leads from initial contact through proposal development and contract closure. The Business Development Manager will collaborate closely with design and leadership teams to prepare pitches, presentations, and strategic proposals that reflect Ingrain’s design philosophy and value proposition. Day-to-day responsibilities include market research, pipeline management, coordinating meetings and client reviews, representing the firm at industry events, and maintaining accurate reporting on business development activities and outcomes. The role also includes contributing to strategic planning, enhancing brand visibility, and ensuring a consistent, professional client experience.
Qualifications
Proven experience in business development, sales, or client acquisition, preferably in architecture, real estate, urban design, or related professional services.
Strong relationship-building, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior decision-makers.
Ability to conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and develop targeted outreach strategies and growth plans.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to create compelling proposals, pitch decks, and client documents.
Solid organizational and project management skills, with experience managing pipelines, tracking metrics, and meeting deadlines.
Comfort working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and translating design and technical concepts into clear business value for clients.
Proficiency with CRM tools, productivity software (e.g., MS Office or Google Workspace), and basic digital marketing or networking platforms.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Architecture, Urban Planning, or a related field; a master’s degree or MBA is an advantage
