Product Engineer

About the role
We are building internal products that change how enterprise implementation work gets done. The products are live, in daily use, and growing. We are hiring experienced product engineers to build on them.
This is a hands-on engineering role. You will pick up items from a live backlog, design the solution, build it, prove it works and ship it. The work spans the full stack, from data and services through to the screens people use.
It suits an engineer who is comfortable owning something end to end, works well with an incomplete brief, and enjoys building tools that other professionals rely on to do their job.
What you will be doing
• Delivering from the backlog. Items are raised continuously as the products are used and as new capability is needed. You take them, size them, build them and see them through to production.
• Building across the stack. Services, data model, integrations and user interface. You own the change from end to end rather than handing it across a boundary.
• Working with structured and unstructured data. Reading, transforming and validating data from documents, spreadsheets, exports and APIs, where the input is real and rarely clean.
• Integrating with enterprise platforms. Authenticating, reading and writing to business systems through their APIs, and handling the realities of rate limits, failures and partial results.
• Applying AI where it earns its place. Large language models are part of how these products work. You will build with them, measure them, and know when a deterministic approach is the better engineering answer.
• Proving the work. Automated tests, verified behaviour, and a release you can explain. Quality is part of delivery here, not a separate phase.
• Shaping what gets built. You will have direct input into priorities and approach. Experienced engineers here are expected to have opinions and argue them.

What we are looking for
Commercial experience:
8+ years building and shipping production software, with meaningful time at senior level.
Core languages:
Strong TypeScript and JavaScript across back end and front end. Python or C# as a secondary language is welcome.
Back end:
Modern Node.js, API design, authentication, validation and error handling in a service you have run in production.
Front end:
React with modern patterns: function components, hooks, client-side data fetching and state. Clean, usable interfaces without a designer holding your hand.
Data:
Strong relational database skills. Schema design, real SQL, transactions, indexing and migrations. Comfortable modelling tables, columns, keys and relationships from a messy business problem.
Data formats:
Confident with JSON, XML, XPath and query languages, spreadsheet formats and document parsing. You can work with a schema you did not design and cannot change.
Cloud:
Building and running services in a major cloud, ideally Azure. Identity, secrets management, deployment and monitoring.
AI engineering:
Practical experience building with large language models: prompt design, structured output, validating what comes back, cost and latency as measured numbers.
Engineering practice:
Automated testing as a habit, version control discipline, and code that the next person can maintain.
Highly regarded
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 ecosystem and the Power Platform
• Familiarity with other enterprise business platforms such as NetSuite, SAP or Salesforce
• Experience with enterprise integration patterns and middleware
• Document intelligence, information extraction or natural language processing
• Reporting and analytics platforms
• Background in professional services or consulting, so you understand the people the products serve
