Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Site Accountant role based in Nagaon. The Site Accountant will oversee day-to-day accounting activities at the project site, including recording transactions, maintaining ledgers, and ensuring accurate and timely entry of expenses, material purchases, and subcontractor payments. The role involves preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports, reconciling site accounts with head office records, and monitoring budgets against actual costs. The Site Accountant will handle cash and bank operations at the site, support vendor and staff payment processing, and ensure proper documentation and filing of invoices, bills, and contracts. The role also includes coordinating with project managers, procurement teams, and the central finance department to support audits, compliance requirements, and financial planning for ongoing projects.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles, ledger posting, and stock reconciliation, with proficiency in accounting or ERP software.
Experience in project, real estate or construction site accounting, including cost tracking, budget monitoring, and vendor bill verification.
Proficiency in MS Excel and other spreadsheet tools for report preparation, data analysis, and financial documentation.
Attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ability to maintain organized records and proper documentation under time constraints.
Effective communication and coordination skills to work with site teams, suppliers, and the central finance department.
Ability to work on-site in Nagaon on a full-time basis and manage responsibilities independently with integrity and reliability.
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field; relevant experience in infrastructure or construction projects is an advantage.
Familiarity with taxation, invoicing, and compliance processes applicable to construction and infrastructure contracts is beneficial.
