Test Engineering - PCBA

Responsibilities
Own PCBA test architecture and coverage strategy, including ICT, Flying Probe, Boundary Scan (IEEE 1149.1), Functional Test, and End-of-Line testing approaches.
Review RFQs, schematics, BOMs, specifications, and customer requirements to define a compliant and executable test solution.
Develop test estimates covering fixture requirements, test program effort, equipment needs, throughput, station count, retest strategy, NRE, capex, and implementation timelines.
Define fault coverage assumptions, DFT requirements, test capacity models, and production test readiness criteria.
Establish fixture and interface concepts, instrumentation requirements, calibration strategies, and measurement uncertainty considerations.
Prepare technical calculations, coverage analyses, and supporting evidence for proposal reviews, costing models, and management approvals.
Support supplier evaluations, test equipment assessments, and make-versus-buy decisions for test solutions and fixtures.
Drive alignment across design, process, quality, manufacturing, automation, and supply chain teams to ensure test strategy supports production objectives.
Define correlation plans, GR&R requirements, golden-unit governance, and validation methodologies for test deployment.
Establish test readiness, traceability, acceptance criteria, and handover deliverables to support NPI and volume production.
Qualifications
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, ECE, Mechatronics, Industrial, Production Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Postgraduate specialization in Electronics, Test Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
Strong knowledge of ICT, Flying Probe, Functional Test, Boundary Scan (IEEE 1149.1), RF Testing, and End-of-Line test methodologies.
Expertise in DFT principles, fault coverage analysis, fixture design, test program estimation, and test capacity planning.
Experience with test instrumentation, automated test systems, calibration requirements, and measurement system analysis.
Knowledge of correlation studies, GR&R, golden-unit management, statistical analysis, and production test validation.
Proficiency in test development environments, coverage-analysis tools, data-analysis platforms, and advanced Excel modelling.
Working knowledge of PLM, ERP, and MES systems supporting test specifications, traceability, result management, and manufacturing execution.
Desired Experience Level
8-12 years of experience in PCBA Test Engineering, Manufacturing Test, NPI, Product Validation, or Manufacturing Industrialization within EMS or complex electronics manufacturing environments.
Demonstrated experience supporting customer RFQs, technical proposals, test strategy development, and manufacturing solution definition.
Proven experience developing ICT, Functional Test, Boundary Scan, and production test solutions for high-volume electronics products.
Experience in throughput modelling, capacity planning, fixture development, fault isolation, yield improvement, and test optimization.
Strong ability to convert incomplete customer requirements into executable test strategies with documented assumptions, risks, and mitigation plans.
Experience working with global customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams, supported by strong analytical, problem-solving, and customer-facing communication skills.
