Onsite Role in Bangalore
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced SOTIF Engineer to support the safety development and validation of ADAS and automated-driving functions for one of our clients in Bangalore. The engineer will identify and mitigate risks caused by functional insufficiencies, sensor or perception limitations, triggering conditions and reasonably foreseeable misuse in accordance with ISO 21448.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain SOTIF plans, analyses and work products according to ISO 21448.
Identify functional insufficiencies, triggering conditions, perception limitations and foreseeable misuse scenarios.
Perform SOTIF hazard identification, risk evaluation and acceptance assessments.
Define safe operating boundaries and derive SOTIF requirements for ADAS functions.
Conduct scenario-based analysis covering known safe, known unsafe and potentially unknown hazardous scenarios.
Develop SOTIF concepts, arguments, evidence and safety cases.
Work closely with functional-safety, ADAS, perception, systems, software and verification teams.
Ensure traceability between hazards, scenarios, requirements, tests and validation results.
Support verification and validation through simulation, MIL/SIL/HIL testing, vehicle testing and field-data analysis.
Analyse test results, edge cases and residual risks, and recommend appropriate risk-reduction measures.
Participate in technical reviews, safety assessments and discussions with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Mandatory Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
6–9 years of automotive engineering experience.
Strong practical experience with ISO 21448/SOTIF.
Good understanding of ISO 26262 functional safety.
Experience with ADAS, automated-driving, perception, sensors or safety-critical embedded systems.
Experience identifying triggering conditions, functional insufficiencies and perception limitations.
Knowledge of hazard analysis, risk assessment, safety requirements and safety-case development.
Experience with scenario-based validation, simulation, MIL/SIL/HIL or vehicle testing.
Familiarity with requirements and engineering tools such as DOORS, Polarion, Jama or SystemWeaver.
Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink, Vector tools or equivalent automotive development and verification tools.
Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working for an automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier.
Knowledge of camera, radar, lidar and sensor-fusion systems.
Familiarity with HARA, FMEA, FTA and related safety-analysis techniques.
Knowledge of Automotive SPICE and automotive cybersecurity.
Understanding of ADAS regulations and validation standards.
Experience preparing documentation for safety assessments, audits or customer reviews.
