As we continue to scale our web and mobile ecosystem, we are looking for a highly capable and hands-on Full Stack Web Developer who can take ownership of web development, backend architecture, API development, integrations, performance, security and ongoing product enhancements.
About the Role
We are looking for a talented and experienced Full Stack Web Developer with 3+ years of hands-on development experience who has strong expertise in Node.js, JavaScript, React.js, Next.js, MongoDB and REST APIs.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working across both frontend and backend development, building scalable web applications, developing and integrating APIs, managing databases, working with third-party services and deploying applications.
The candidate should also have practical knowledge of WordPress, AI tools/API integrations, cloud technologies and modern development practices.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, taking ownership of products and working closely with founders, product managers, designers and developers to turn ideas into high-quality digital products.
Key Responsibilities1. Full-Stack Web Development
Design, develop, test and maintain responsive, high-performance web applications.
Build scalable frontend applications using React.js and Next.js.
Develop robust backend services and APIs using Node.js and Express.js.
Convert UI/UX designs and product requirements into functional, production-ready web experiences.
Ensure applications are responsive and optimized across desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
Maintain and improve existing web applications while developing new features.
2. Backend & API Development
Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js.
Build and manage secure RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
Develop authentication, authorization, user management and role-based access systems.
Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, communication services, analytics platforms and other external services.
Optimize APIs for speed, reliability, scalability and security.
Troubleshoot backend issues and improve application architecture wherever required.
3. Database Management
Work extensively with MongoDB and preferably have exposure to MySQL/PostgreSQL.
Design efficient database structures, schemas and relationships.
Write optimized queries and improve database performance.
Handle data validation, indexing, aggregation and optimization.
Maintain data integrity, security and scalability.
4. React.js & Next.js
Develop modern and reusable UI components using React.js.
Build SEO-friendly and high-performance applications using Next.js.
Work with APIs to create dynamic, data-driven interfaces.
Optimize frontend performance, page speed and user experience.
Implement reusable components and maintain clean frontend architecture.
Collaborate with UI/UX designers to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
5. WordPress Development
Develop, customize and maintain WordPress websites.
Customize WordPress themes and plugins where required.
Integrate WordPress websites with external APIs and other HitFame systems.
Ensure WordPress websites are secure, fast, responsive and SEO-friendly.
Troubleshoot technical issues and perform regular website improvements.
6. AI & Emerging Technologies
Explore and implement AI-powered features and integrations across HitFame's web ecosystem.
Work with AI APIs and tools such as OpenAI and other relevant AI platforms.
Identify opportunities where AI can improve automation, personalization, content, recommendations, user experience and operational efficiency.
Stay updated with emerging AI technologies, developer tools and frameworks.
Ability to understand AI APIs, prompts, integrations and basic AI-driven product workflows will be highly valued.
7. Performance, Security & Scalability
Ensure applications are secure, scalable and reliable.
Implement appropriate authentication and authorization mechanisms such as JWT/OAuth.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
Optimize frontend, backend, APIs and database queries.
Follow secure coding practices and protect user data.
Monitor application performance and proactively identify technical issues.
8. Deployment & DevOps Collaboration
Work with DevOps/cloud teams on deployment and production environments.
Have practical understanding of AWS, cloud hosting, Docker and CI/CD.
Manage application builds, deployments and environment configurations where required.
Understand basic server management, domains, DNS, SSL and deployment workflows.
Support production releases and troubleshoot deployment-related issues.
9. Testing & Code Quality
Write clean, modular, reusable and maintainable code.
Perform unit testing, integration testing and debugging.
Identify and resolve bugs before and after production deployment.
Participate in code reviews and maintain development standards.
Follow Git-based version control and proper branching practices.
Maintain technical documentation for APIs, integrations and important systems.
10. Product Collaboration
Work closely with the Founder, Product, UI/UX, Mobile, Backend, Frontend and Marketing teams.
Understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Participate in product discussions and provide technical inputs on feasibility and scalability.
Take ownership of assigned features from development through deployment.
Proactively identify technical improvements instead of waiting for instructions.
Help the team build technology that supports HitFame's rapidly growing user and creator ecosystem.
Required Technical SkillsCore Development
3+ years of professional experience in web/full-stack development.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript / ES6+.
Strong hands-on experience with Node.js.
Strong experience with Express.js or similar backend frameworks.
Strong knowledge of React.js.
Good hands-on knowledge of Next.js.
Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3 and responsive web development.
Backend & APIs
Strong understanding of RESTful API architecture.
Experience developing APIs for web and mobile applications.
Knowledge of JSON, authentication and authorization.
Experience with JWT, OAuth or similar authentication mechanisms.
Understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture.
Database
Strong hands-on knowledge of MongoDB.
Understanding of database design, indexing, aggregation and optimization.
Knowledge of MySQL/PostgreSQL will be an advantage.
WordPress
Practical experience with WordPress development and customization.
Understanding of themes, plugins, APIs and website optimization.
Version Control & Development
Strong knowledge of Git/GitHub/GitLab.
Familiarity with JIRA, Trello or similar task-management tools.
Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
