About the Company: REHWA Society was established by the Royal Holkar of Indore to revive and sustain the historic handloom traditions of Maheshwar. The organisation works to strengthen artisan livelihoods through dignified employment, while preserving and advancing Maheshwari textiles for contemporary markets. Its work spans production, artisan development, design, market access, and institutional initiatives.
About the Role: REHWA is seeking two Program Officers to support the Executive Director in the planning, coordination, and execution of key organisational priorities.
One role will have a stronger focus on operations, production, artisan livelihoods, and programme implementation. The second will have a stronger focus on marketing, exhibitions, market development, customer engagement, and institutional outreach.
Both roles require hands-on professionals who can work closely with artisans and internal teams, manage multiple priorities, maintain strong systems and reporting, and ensure effective follow-through. Experience in rural livelihoods, handloom, craft, textiles, social enterprise, or related sectors is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
Programme Planning & Execution
Support the Senior Management in translating annual priorities into clear plans, timelines, targets, and responsibilities.
Coordinate assigned programmes and ensure timely execution and follow-through.
Maintain project trackers, calendars, MIS, and progress reports.
Identify implementation issues and work with relevant teams to resolve them.
Artisan Engagement & Livelihoods
Build strong working relationships with weavers and artisan families.
Coordinate artisan meetings, training, welfare initiatives, and feedback processes.
Track participation, work continuity, earnings, training, and other livelihood indicators.
Support initiatives to strengthen skills, productivity, and next-generation engagement.
Operations & Production
Work with production teams to monitor schedules, artisan allocation, order progress, and collection timelines.
Support coordination across raw materials, dyeing, weaving, quality, inventory, and dispatch.
Track production issues, delays, and resource requirements.
Support special production projects and artisan training programmes.
Marketing, Market Development & Outreach
Support exhibitions, buyer visits, textile tours, collaborations, and institutional outreach.
Assist with market research, customer follow-up, sales initiatives, and new business opportunities.
Coordinate product presentation, event materials, and communication requirements.
Support the marketing and sales teams with programme execution, reporting, and follow-up.
Monitoring, Budgets & Reporting
Maintain accurate programme data, records, and management information.
Track budgets and expenditure against approved plans.
Prepare regular programme and management reports.
Support documentation required for Board reporting, audits, partnerships, and institutional programmes.
Social Welfare & Handloom Awareness
Coordinate artisan welfare initiatives such as health camps, women’s health, and financial literacy programmes.
Support visitor experiences, workshops, museum activities, and archive-related initiatives.
Qualifications:
Graduate degree required. A postgraduate qualification in Rural Management, Social Work, Business Management, Textiles, Marketing, Design Management, or a related field is preferred.
Required Skills:
2–5 years of relevant experience in social enterprise, rural livelihoods, producer organisations, textiles, handloom, apparel, craft, marketing, operations, or related sectors.
Strong project management, coordination, and execution skills.
Ability to work effectively with rural communities, artisans, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
Good reporting, MIS, spreadsheet, budgeting, and organisational skills.
Strong communication skills in English and Hindi.
Appreciation for handloom, textiles, craft, and rural enterprise.
Self-driven, practical, and comfortable working in Maheshwar.
Role Preference:
Candidates may have a stronger orientation toward either:
Operations: production, supply chain, artisan engagement, programme implementation, systems and MIS; or
Marketing: exhibitions, market development, customer engagement, partnerships, outreach and brand support.
Reporting:
Both Program Officers will report to the Executive Director, REHWA Society.
Compensation:
Indicative CTC: ₹3.6 - 6.0 LPA, depending on experience and suitability.
