Sales Representative

Do you enjoy interacting with a diverse community of farmers, understanding their unique needs and providing high quality vegetable seed varieties to help them thrive? Are you self-motivated, able to manage your own schedule and eager to make a real impact in the agricultural industry?
Are you keen to learn more about the Sales Representative position we have available?
You will focus on vegetable seed sales, variety development and supporting farmers in South Africa. You will play a key part in implementing Sakata’s sales strategy within your region while contributing to the success of the greater Sakata group.
What will you do?
Manage customer accounts
Provide technical assistance to clients where possible
Provide key customer support
Develop market share
Contribute to sales planning and budgets
Assist with planning and arrangements of farmers days and other marketing/promotional activities
Coordinate product trials within the region
Collect and report up-to-date market information/data
Maintain proficiency of sales skills and product knowledge
Operate within budgeted OPEX
Accurate and timeous completion of sales administration
Delivery of product to clients, when necessary
Coordinating all commercial activities within the region
Where will you work?
You will be based in Polokwane, preferably in Louis Trichardt.
Your manager, Mr. Johan Stronkhorst, is based at Sakata’s head office in Gauteng.
Do you fit this profile?
You have:
previous sales experience within the vegetable seed industry with good market knowledge
a good knowledge of agronomy and irrigation providing support to farmers, while maintaining a commercial perspective.
a tertiary qualification
a good level of English, both written and spoken
a valid driver’s license
You are:
willing to work flexible hours
willing to travel
able to work under pressure
computer literate
able to work within deadlines, with good personal time management
a team player who finds it easy to communicate and collaborate within the team and with other departments
