Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Biomedical Engineer role based at Government Dharmapuri Medical College and Hospital in Dharmapuri. The Biomedical Engineer will oversee the installation, calibration, and maintenance of medical equipment used in clinical departments, laboratories, and teaching facilities. Daily activities include performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, coordinating repairs with vendors, and maintaining documentation and maintenance records. The role also involves supporting clinical teams in the safe use of medical devices, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations, and contributing to equipment planning and upgrades to meet hospital needs.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Biomedical Engineering and Clinical Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles in a healthcare environment.
Hands-on experience with Medical Equipment, including installation, calibration, safety checks, and support for clinical users.
Proficiency in Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance practices to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related engineering discipline from a recognized institution.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment specifications.
Knowledge of healthcare safety standards, regulatory requirements, and medical device quality practices.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to respond promptly to equipment-related issues.
Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with medical, nursing, technical, and administrative teams.
Prior experience in a hospital or clinical engineering department is an advantage.
