Role Description The Manager – Accounts will oversee day-to-day financial operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and expense tracking. This role will ensure timely preparation of financial statements, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and support internal and external audits in compliance with institutional policies and applicable regulations. The Manager – Accounts will collaborate with academic and administrative departments to provide accurate financial reports, monitor cost centers, and implement effective financial controls. They will also be responsible for supervising accounting staff, improving accounting processes, and supporting the development of financial policies and procedures. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Mohali district.
Qualifications
Strong skills in financial accounting, general ledger management, and accounts payable/receivable.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for large institutions or organizations.
Ability to manage bank reconciliations, cash flow monitoring, and expense control.
Knowledge of relevant accounting standards, taxation principles, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, along with solid MS Excel skills.
Demonstrated ability to supervise teams, delegate tasks, and mentor accounting staff.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail capabilities.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with academic and administrative stakeholders.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications such as CA, CPA, or CMA are an advantage.
Prior experience in higher education or large institutional finance environments is preferred.
