Design Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Design Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space.
This role will shape how users interact with complex AI model workflows across web, desktop-style interfaces, CLI environments, and APIs. You will partner closely with customers, product, and engineering to turn highly technical concepts into clear, usable experiences that support adoption and performance.
The position blends product design, frontend development, and hands-on experimentation, with a focus on simplifying advanced functionality while maintaining quality, accessibility, and resilience after launch.
You will also use rapid prototyping tools and customer feedback to test ideas quickly and improve the end-to-end product experience.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $208,000 – $312,000 annually
Responsibilities
Own product design and frontend implementation for AI model interaction
Design and develop across multiple platforms, including website, dashboard, CLI, and APIs
Simplify complex concepts such as models and budgeting for end users
Engage directly with customers to gather insights and improve the product
Ensure high-quality post-launch performance, including accessibility and resilience
Utilize coding agents for fast prototyping and testing of ideas
Qualifications
5-7 years of experience in product design or frontend engineering
Proficient in React and TypeScript for building production-quality web applications
Strong visual and interaction design skills with an emphasis on usability
Ability to navigate graphical interfaces, CLI workflows, and API behavior effectively
Experience using customer feedback and product data for informed decision-making
Familiarity with coding agents for rapid idea exploration and implementation
