Commercial Legal Director

For our client, we are seeking a Commercial Legal Director to join the team of a leader in the Media space.
This role will lead commercial legal support for a fast-moving organization operating in a data-driven media environment. You will partner closely with Sales, Partnerships, and other business stakeholders to structure and negotiate agreements that support growth while protecting the company’s interests. The position also calls for practical guidance on privacy, data governance, and emerging regulatory considerations, including the EU AI Act. In addition, you will help improve templates and processes to create greater efficiency across the Legal team.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $150,000 – $180,000 annually
Responsibilities
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including SaaS and partnership contracts
Understand data flows to advise on innovative deal frameworks
Provide guidance on commercial risks while balancing them with business objectives
Support deal structuring in collaboration with Sales and Partnerships teams
Maintain and enhance contract templates for efficiency
Analyze potential legal risks related to commercial and data privacy laws
Contribute to process improvements within the Legal team
Qualifications
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active bar membership
8+ years of experience focused on commercial transactions
Proficiency in drafting and negotiating technology agreements, particularly SaaS and partnership deals
Strong understanding of privacy, data governance, and the EU AI Act
Excellent communication and negotiation skills for influencing stakeholders
Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments
