Principal DevOps Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Media space.
This role will help shape and operate a Kubernetes-native platform that supports complex broadcast infrastructure in a remote environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in cloud-native systems, infrastructure automation, and hybrid connectivity, with a strong focus on reliability, security, and scalable delivery. You will partner closely with broadcast engineers, vendors, and internal technology teams to build the platform foundations that enable efficient and secure operations.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $180,000 – $230,000 annually
Responsibilities
Architect a Kubernetes-native platform for broadcast infrastructure.
Design, build, and maintain Kubernetes operators, controllers, and internal APIs in Go.
Lead cloud networking, DNS, and hybrid environment connectivity design.
Collaborate with broadcast engineers and vendors on infrastructure integration.
Mentor engineers and drive architectural decisions.
Design access and security models with hierarchical RBAC systems.
Manage GitOps delivery and oversee configuration-as-code for compute fleets.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in production infrastructure and cloud-native platforms at enterprise scale.
Strong proficiency in Go and experience building Kubernetes controllers and operators.
Expert knowledge of Kubernetes internals, including CRD/XRD generation and RBAC.
Deep experience with Crossplane and developing custom Crossplane providers in Go.
Extensive experience with AWS multi-account architectures and networking patterns.
Production experience with GitOps tooling such as Flux or ArgoCD for continuous delivery.
Hands-on experience with Puppet and configuration management.
