Software Development Director

For our client, we are seeking a Software Development Director to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space.
This leader will oversee the software development function and shape the strategy that supports broader digital transformation across the organization. The role will focus on building a scalable engineering organization, strengthening execution across multiple teams, and advancing innovation initiatives that improve business outcomes. The ideal candidate will partner closely with senior technology leaders and business stakeholders to develop leadership capability, attract top talent, and deliver complex initiatives at scale.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $144,000 – $200,000 annually
Responsibilities
Define and execute the overall software development strategy
Lead and mentor Software Development Managers and senior technical leaders
Build a high-performing, scalable engineering organization
Drive long-term technology roadmaps and innovation initiatives
Attract, develop, and retain top software engineering talent
Establish leadership pipelines and succession planning
Oversee execution of multiple software initiatives across teams
Qualifications
Proven experience in a senior leadership role in software development
Strong technical background in modern software engineering practices
Experience managing multiple teams and leaders
Track record of delivering large-scale, complex software initiatives
Experience leading Agile transformations within organizations
Strong background in driving digital transformation initiatives
Exceptional leadership and communication skills at the executive level
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
