Data Platform Engineer (Associate)

For our client, we are seeking a Data Platform Engineer (Associate) to join the team of a leader in the Business Services space.
This role will focus on strengthening the organization’s data and integration foundation across a distributed technology environment. You will help design shared platform patterns, improve interoperability across applications, and reduce duplication through scalable engineering solutions. The position also involves working closely with cross-functional teams to shape how data is accessed, presented, and deployed across cloud infrastructure.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $100,000 – $130,000 annually
Responsibilities
Audit existing analytics applications to assess technology and integration points
Design integration patterns that enable interoperability across siloed applications
Evaluate tradeoffs for component unification and document the rationale
Develop shared platform services to reduce duplication across applications
Understand and integrate existing data pipelines from distributed teams
Build a unified presentation layer for consistent data access across environments
Manage platform services deployment on cloud infrastructure
Qualifications
3+ years of software engineering experience, including 1+ years in integration or platform roles
Proficiency in one backend language for data systems, such as Python, Go, or Java; multi-language experience preferred
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, primarily AWS
Experience building and operating data pipelines (ETL/ELT) with schema and quality monitoring
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools in a professional context
Strong written communication skills for producing architecture and design documents
