For our client, we are seeking a Senior Director, Head of R&D Resource Management to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space.
This leader will shape the enterprise approach to R&D resource planning across the drug development lifecycle, ensuring capacity, demand, and workforce allocation are aligned to business priorities. The role will partner closely with senior R&D, portfolio, and operations stakeholders to improve forecasting, decision-making, and execution. It will also help advance analytics-driven planning capabilities and strengthen the processes used to support global research and development programs.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $228,000 – $342,000 annually
Responsibilities
Define and lead the strategic vision for R&D resource management.
Establish an integrated operational working model for resource coordination.
Act as the authoritative voice for resource capacity and demand during planning reviews.
Lead AI and ML applications to enhance demand forecasting accuracy.
Oversee the optimization of resource planning algorithms for dynamic workload estimation.
Manage the deployment of resource allocation tools for advanced workforce planning.
Direct the strategy and delivery of global R&D resource analytics and reporting.
Qualifications
12+ years of leadership experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology R&D, or life sciences management consulting.
6-8 years of hands-on leadership in enterprise resource management, portfolio analytics, or capacity planning.
Proven experience deploying resource management software, particularly Planisware.
Deep understanding of drug discovery, clinical trial execution, and commercialization lifecycles.
Outstanding communication skills for synthesizing complex analytics into senior-level strategic options.
