Senior Shopify Plus Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Shopify Plus Engineer to join our team for a large-scale enterprise commerce initiative. This is a remote contractor position open to professionals based in Latin America and the United States who can provide services through their own business entity or as an independent contractor.
You will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering scalable Shopify Plus solutions for complex eCommerce ecosystems, working alongside Solution Architects, Product Managers, QA Engineers, and Integration Specialists.
Role Overview
As a Senior Shopify Plus Engineer, you will be responsible for building and customizing Shopify Plus storefronts, implementing advanced commerce functionality, integrating enterprise platforms, and contributing to the successful delivery of high-impact digital commerce solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and customize Shopify Plus storefronts using Online Store 2.0
Build reusable and scalable theme architecture using Liquid
Develop custom storefront features and CMS components
Implement Shopify Functions and business logic customizations
Customize Shopify Checkout using Checkout Extensibility
Develop and maintain custom/private Shopify applications
Integrate Shopify with ERP, CRM, PIM, payment, and logistics platforms
Implement GraphQL Admin API and Webhook integrations
Optimize storefront performance, SEO, and Core Web Vitals
Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews
Support deployment activities and production releases
Collaborate closely with QA and Integration teams throughout testing and release cycles

5+ years of Shopify development experience
Strong experience delivering Shopify Plus implementations
Advanced Liquid development skills

Strong JavaScript and TypeScript knowledge
Experience building custom Shopify applications
Experience integrating Shopify with enterprise systems and APIs
Strong GraphQL expertise
Experience with Shopify Admin API
Solid understanding of Online Store 2.0 architecture
Git and CI/CD experience
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
