HGV Class 1 Driver

We’re looking for professional HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our Fowler Welch team in Spalding, supporting our Chilled operation and delivering to key retail customers across the UK.
This is a permanent role offering full-time stability for HGV Class 1 drivers who will be responsible for RDC, Farms and Packhouse deliveries. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards. You’ll be joining a supportive transport team where safe driving, reliable service and high professional standards are valued every day.

Saturday-Tuesday Start time 21:00pm-23:00pm
4on4off- Start time 21:00pm-23:00pm
Saturday- Start time Tuesday 23:00pm-01:00am
4on4off Start time 23:00pm-01:00am
Sunday-Wednesday Start time 01:00am-02:00am
4on4off- Start time 01:00am-02:00am
Tramping-
Friday-Monday Start time 22:00pm-00:01pm
4on4off- Start time 22:00pm-00:01pm
4on4off 00:01pm-02:00am
Salary- From £14.72ph- £20.73ph
What you'll be doing:
Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises across the UK.
Operating refrigerated articulated vehicles
Complete nationwide deliveries of palletised goods to Regional Distribution Centres, Farms and Packhouses
Report to the Transport team at the start of each shift and keep them updated on delays, delivery issues or load discrepancies.
Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed and returned to the Transport Office.
Follow company procedures, including health, safety and hygiene standards.
Manage your working time in line with the Road Transport Directive and tachograph rules.
Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects correctly and take responsibility for your unit and trailer, including temperature checks where required.
Maintain a professional standard of behaviour, appearance and customer service at all times.
You should hold a valid C+E Licence
Previous Class 1 Driving Experience is advantageous however we will consider New Pass Drivers
No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR Code convictions.
Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards.
Understand and able to comply with Driver’s hours and WTD legislation.
Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly.
Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements.
Excellent communication skills.
