Reliability Engineer

The Reliability Engineer is responsible for improving equipment availability, performance, and lifecycle reliability by applying structured problem-solving, data analysis, and predictive maintenance methodologies. This role focuses on identifying chronic losses, reducing unplanned downtime, and driving long-term corrective actions that improve Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and reduce Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
By applying the Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodology, the engineer ensures that maintenance strategies are risk-based, cost-effective, and aligned with Bosch’s TPM objectives. FMECA and Risk Management
· Develops and maintains Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) for critical
assets and systems.
· Evaluates failure consequences and criticality to prioritize maintenance actions within the RCM
framework.
· Updates risk assessments based on operational learnings and ensures compliance with Bosch
reliability standards.
· Participates in new MAE projects to ensure FMECA is applied as standard practice in equipment
design.
Predictive and Preventive Maintenance Optimization
· Develops and continuously improves preventive and predictive maintenance strategies based on RCM
principles.
· Implements predictive maintenance techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography, and oil
diagnostics.
· Optimizes preventive maintenance frequencies using equipment performance trends and reliability
data.
· Collaborates with the Maintenance System Specialist to ensure updated strategies are reflected in
SAP PM.
· Supports new equipment commissioning and Early Equipment Management (EEM) by validating
maintainability and reliability design requirements. 20%
Equipment Reliability and Performance Analysis
· Monitors equipment reliability KPIs, including MTBF, MTTR, and OEE-related losses.
· Reviews maintenance and production data to identify chronic failures and performance degradation.
· Coordinates with Maintenance and Production teams to validate root causes and define improvement
priorities.
· Ensures proper use of reliability platforms (e.g., QRS) to identify bad actors and track equipment

Root Cause and Continuous Improvement Activities
· Leads structured problem-solving processes (5Why, Fishbone, Shainin, or 8D) for high-impact
failures.
· Facilitates cross-functional workshops to eliminate recurring issues and standardize best practices.
· Drives complex corrective maintenance initiatives, ensuring implementation of sustainable corrective 25%
actions. · Tracks and verifies the effectiveness of corrective actions and ensures learnings are documented and shared.
Reliability Cost and Failure Impact Analysis
· Analyzes cost of failures and downtime to identify technical or process-related cost drivers.
· Evaluates maintenance and spare-part data to correlate failure impact and total cost of ownership
(TCO).
· Provides design, process, or maintenance strategy recommendations to reduce reliability-related
costs.
· Coordinates with the Maintenance System Specialist to ensure analytical findings are reflected in
maintenance plans. 10%
Documentation, Reporting, and Best Practice Sharing
· Documents reliability analyses, lessons learned, and improvement actions using standardized
templates.
· Prepares monthly reports and dashboards for TEF3 management and global reliability networks.
· Shares best practices across departments to strengthen continuous improvement culture.
· Provides coaching and mentoring to supervisors and technicians to reinforce reliability principles and
knowledge transfer
Education
Bachelor’s Degree X Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or related field
Post-Graduate Degree X Reliability Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field
Special License/Certification X Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), Shainin Red X, or equivalent.
