Overview
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Roadway Design Engineering Intern – Summer 2027 to join our Raleigh, NC office.
Your Role
Support the design and delivery of roadway transportation projects across North Carolina.
Assist with the preparation of construction plans, reports, and project documentation.
Learn to apply NCDOT roadway design standards and engineering best practices.
Utilize engineering software to develop and revise project deliverables.
Collaborate with engineers and designers in a team-oriented environment.
Gain exposure to project development from preliminary design through final plan production.
About You
EXPERIENCE: No experience is generally required if currently enrolled in a degree seeking program
EDUCATION: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint)
Familiarity with CADD software, AutoCAD or Openroads Designer (preferred)
Strong problem solving and teamwork abilities
Effective verbal and written communication skills

Additional Information
Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
