Associate Principal Hardware Engineer

In this role, you will act as a technical leader and domain expert, shaping the direction of electronic system design and ensuring robust, scalable, and future-ready solutions. You will work across multidisciplinary teams to translate product requirements into optimized architectures, supported by predictive modeling and cutting-edge technology evaluation.
The role will require a highly motivated, creative, methodical, and flexible person, ready to take on challenges with a pragmatic approach. You will act as role model and provide guidance and mentoring to Graduates and Junior Engineers and provide technical direction across multiple projects in Haircare Category.
Accountabilities
Define and lead the end-to-end electronics system architecture across multiple product platforms
Decompose product requirements into hardware and system-level design specifications
Perform design validation through simulation, reducing development risk and iteration cycles
Identify, scout, and evaluate emerging electronics technologies relevant to future products
Conduct feasibility studies, proof-of-concept (PoC) development, and benchmarking
Collaborate with suppliers and research partners on new components and technologies
Provide technical recommendations on technology adoption and roadmaps
Act as subject matter expert in electronics hardware design and integration, disseminating knowledge, guiding and mentor engineers in methodology, best practice and standards.
Proactively identify technical risks within projects and influence engineering teams in their resolution, often taking the lead in the design and testing of the engineering solution.
Ensure design solutions meet product specifications and functional requirements (performance, reliability, DFM, cost and compliance with international regulatory standards e.g. IEC, UL and EMC)
Challenge and develop best practice and process improvements within team and across the wider RDD function
Accountable for schematics and PCB layout review and sign-off of drawings
Skills
As an Associate Principal Engineer, you must be an experienced electronics design engineer and capable of working unsupervised to deliver high quality design solutions.
Degree qualified in a relevant electronics engineering discipline.
· At least minimum 8 years’ experience, in-depth knowledge and experienced in electronics hardware design and integration (e.g. Power Electronics, Motor Drive, Battery Management, Analogue, Digital and Sensing technology)
Experience in electronics system architecture design
Experience in Microcontrollers and embedded systems
Experience in sensor system, communication interface (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, etc.)
Experience using simulation tools (Simetrix, LTSpice, Flotherm, Ansys, Hyperlynx, Matlab etc.) to support design calculations, tolerance analysis, and documentation.
Experience of electronics development through multiple product development cycles.
Knowledge of electronics safety requirements and regulatory certification at PCBA and product levels, including EMC compliance.
