⚙️ Maintenance Technician – Advanced Manufacturing
Location: Taunton (Shift-based role)

Novanta is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support our state-of-the-art manufacturing operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a wide range of advanced equipment, from CNC machines to vacuum coating plants, in a highly specialised precision engineering environment.
You will play a vital role in ensuring operational efficiency, equipment reliability, and a safe working environment—helping to maintain the high standards required for complex, high-performance products.
What you will be doing:
Carry out preventive and reactive maintenance on a variety of manufacturing equipment, including CNC machines, EDM tools, and coating systems
Diagnose faults and implement effective repairs to minimise downtime
Support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives to improve equipment performance
Work from technical drawings, manuals, and engineering instructions to ensure accurate maintenance
Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment through risk assessments and compliance with safety standards
Collaborate with engineers, production teams, and external contractors
What you will bring:
Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2/3 (or equivalent) in engineering, electrical, or maintenance
Experience maintaining manufacturing or production equipment
Strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance tasks
Awareness of health & safety practices and procedures
A proactive, hands-on attitude and strong attention to detail
