Associate Buyer

We are seeking a motivated Associate Buyer to support procurement activities for our production facility. This role is responsible for issuing purchase orders, tracking supplier commitments, maintaining accurate procurement records, and helping ensure materials are available to support production requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and interested in developing a career in supply chain and procurement. This position works closely with suppliers, production planning, inventory management, and senior purchasing team members to support efficient material flow and on-time delivery. Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Support Skills:
Build and maintain positive relationships with existing suppliers.
Follow up on purchase order acknowledgments and delivery commitments.
Escalate supplier delivery or quality concerns to senior purchasing staff as needed.
Purchasing Skills:
Create and process purchase orders in accordance with company procedures.
Monitor open orders and communicate with suppliers regarding shipment status.
Support pull-in and push-out activities to align deliveries with production requirements.
Maintain accurate purchasing records within ERP systems.
Cost and Data Analysis Skills:
Support cost-saving initiatives by gathering data and reporting trends.
Maintain pricing records and supplier information.
Prepare basic purchasing reports and KPI metrics.
Quality Assurance Skills:
Coordinate with Quality and Operations teams regarding supplier issues.
Assist with tracking corrective actions and supplier responses.
Help ensure purchased materials meet company requirements.
Inventory and Material Management Skills:
Help maintain inventory levels to support production schedules.
Monitor excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.
Review shortages and work with suppliers to expedite critical materials.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
1-3 years of purchasing, supply chain, customer service, planning, or manufacturing experience.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Basic analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to learn procurement and supply chain processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using ERP or MRP systems.
Exposure to manufacturing or electronics environments.
Understanding of basic inventory management concepts.
Coursework or internship experience related to supply chain or operations.
