We are seeking a Director, Talent Acquisition - Commercial to help build and scale the recruiting strategy for Definium’s first commercial organization. Reporting to the Senior Director, Talent Acquisition, this individual will serve as a strategic, hands-on partner to Commercial leadership, supporting launch readiness through thoughtful workforce planning, strong talent pipelines, and disciplined recruiting execution.
The successful candidate is a collaborative, business-minded talent acquisition leader with experience supporting high-growth biotechnology, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or healthcare organizations. This role requires sound judgment, strong stakeholder partnership, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, resource-conscious environment. This is a remote position with in-office participation and travel as needed.
Responsibilities
Serve as the lead Talent Acquisition partner to Commercial leadership, advising on workforce planning, hiring priorities, recruiting strategy, and talent market dynamics.
Develop launch-ready recruiting plans, talent pipelines, and hiring approaches for critical commercial roles aligned to business priorities.
Lead full-cycle recruiting across Sales, Market Access, Marketing, Commercial Operations, Training, and other commercial functions.
Develop sourcing strategies and proactive pipelines for specialized, competitive, and field-based commercial talent markets.
Manage complex searches and business-critical hiring initiatives with a focus on quality, speed, candidate experience, and business alignment.
Manage, coach, and support Talent Acquisition team members and/or contractors as needed to ensure clear priorities and consistent execution.
Drive scalable recruiting practices, process improvements, systems enhancements, reporting, and cross-functional initiatives that strengthen recruiting capability.
Use Greenhouse and recruiting analytics to monitor pipeline health, hiring progress, recruiting effectiveness, and executive-level talent insights.
Ensure recruiting practices are compliant with employment laws, company policies, confidentiality expectations, and ethical standards.
Manage external search firms and recruiting vendors, including partner strategy, selection, performance evaluation, budget awareness, and appropriate agency utilization.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
8+ years of progressive talent acquisition experience supporting biotechnology, pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, or similarly complex organizations.
Experience recruiting for commercial, sales, or field-based roles required; direct experience supporting commercial launches or team expansion strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to partner with and influence senior leaders while balancing business priorities, candidate experience, and recruiting discipline.
Experience building recruiting processes, programs, reporting, and talent pipelines in high-growth or evolving environments.
Strong working knowledge of commercial talent markets, field-based recruiting models, and external search firm management.
Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills.
Strong commitment to compliance, confidentiality, and ethical recruiting practices.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and applicant tracking systems; Greenhouse experience preferred.
The starting base pay range for this position is $165,000.00 - $220,000.00. Compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, skill set, years of experience, and the employee’s geographic location.
