Signal Integrity Engineer – Remote

Role Description The Signal Integrity Engineer – Remote is a contract role focused on ensuring high-performance, reliable operation of high-speed electronic systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing signal integrity and power integrity for complex circuits, performing simulations and measurements, and defining design guidelines to mitigate issues such as crosstalk, reflections, and noise. The engineer will collaborate with hardware, PCB layout, and systems teams to review schematics and layouts, specify routing and termination strategies, and validate designs using lab equipment such as spectrum analyzers and oscilloscopes. Additional tasks include documenting findings, creating test plans, supporting root-cause analysis for field or production issues, and providing recommendations for design optimization. This position is fully remote and requires strong communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional, distributed teams.
Qualifications
Strong circuit design skills with experience in high-speed digital and mixed-signal systems.
Expertise in signal and power integrity, including analysis, simulation, and mitigation techniques.
Hands-on experience using spectrum analyzers and related lab instruments for validation and troubleshooting.
Perform signal integrity analysis for high-speed interfaces including PCIe, UCIe, and SerDes.
Solid understanding of electromagnetics and analog principles as applied to PCB design and interconnects.
Proficiency with SI/PI simulation tools (e.g., HyperLynx, Ansys, SIwave, HFSS, ADS, or similar).
Experience reviewing schematics and PCB layouts, and defining routing, stackup, and termination guidelines.
Ability to interpret standards for high-speed interfaces (e.g., PCIe, DDR, Ethernet, USB) is highly beneficial.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
