Machine Operator III

Pay Rate: $21.37 - $28.61
Shift: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Overtime as required
Duties and Responsibilities
The Machine Operator III sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. They use computer-controlled equipment to select, position, and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines. Additionally, the Machine Operator III controls and adjusts machine settings to complete more complex tasks.
Understands and follows all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and around a manufacturing environment
Proficient in setting up and operating machinery and equipment to cut, punch, form or paint quality finished or semi-finished parts
Working knowledge and experience with setting up and operating a roll former along with ancillary equipment, preferred
Proficiently operates computerized equipment and material handling equipment
Performs routine preventive maintenance, adjustments and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation
Marks part number, order numbers, and number of pieces on parts. Prints, verifies, and attaches identification tags as required for customers to have the ability to locate correct parts
Demonstrates comprehension on the flow of production and its impact on the manufacturing process
Interpret blueprints, specifications, and other technical data and select the correct raw material or semi-finished parts
Must be competent in all machine operations and proficient with completing required production reports (e.g. Fab Orders, Part Completions, Run Rates, Machine Efficiencies, Etc.)
Must be capable of training others within the department on all functions of Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement and Production
Maintains and drives continuous improvement practices in work area
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
Mobility – Prolonged periods of time on feet, standing, bending, etc.
Exposure – Moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and non-climate-controlled environment
Noise Tolerance – High noise levels
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Knowledge of a manufacturing environment, two years of experience and/or training in specified job category
