Tableau Product Manager

Job Overview
Plan A Technologies is looking for a Tableau product manager (BI platform owner) expert who understands the platform beyond dashboards—owning content architecture, governance, and the full publisher lifecycle. You’ll optimize performance, enforce best practices across a large user base, and proactively anticipate business needs.
This role bridges business and engineering, translating stakeholder problems into scalable data solutions, with exposure to Tableau MCP and modern integrations.
Please note: you must have at least 5+ years as a Product Manager expert with Tableau to be considered for this role.
Job Responsibility & Experience
Deep working knowledge of Tableau as a platform, not only as a dashboard tool. Content architecture, governance, published data sources, permissions, and the publisher lifecycle.
Hands on dashboard performance tuning. Diagnosing and fixing slow extracts, queries, and workbook design.
Experience defining and enforcing best practices across a large community of content authors, including the enablement material that goes with them.
Understanding of what different business functions build in Tableau, and the ability to anticipate demand rather than only respond to tickets.
Familiarity with Tableau MCP and with building or deploying Tableau skills or agent integrations.
Strong communication. This person sits between business stakeholders and engineering, and has to pull the real problem out of a conversation and translate it.
Nice To Have:
Tableau certification carries significant weight here. A certified candidate will be prioritized over an equivalent profile without one.Certifications, in order of preference:
Salesforce Certified Tableau Consultant
Salesforce Certified Tableau Architect
Salesforce Certified Tableau Server Administrator
Salesforce Certified Tableau Data Analyst
Snowflake experience. It is the data layer behind this deployment.
A point of view on governed BI versus dynamically generated dashboards, including token cost, latency, guardrails, and security. The client is actively trying to answer this question and has no settled answer.
Prior work inside a Tableau center of excellence, or as an analytics platform owner, at a company with thousands of content authors.
Experience running enablement for a large user base: office hours, documentation, community programs.
Experience applying Tableau Blueprint, Tableau's own framework for enterprise deployment, governance, and adoption.
