Vice President of Wealth Management
Core Responsibilities:
Develop and execute enterprise wealth management strategy, ensuring high-quality advisory services that meet clients' financial needs while driving growth, productivity, and profitability initiatives
Oversee financial advisors, relationship managers, and wealth management teams to expand client base, assets under management (AUM), and revenue generation across affluent, HNI, UHNI, and family office segments
Acquire and manage high-net-worth (HNI), ultra-high-net-worth (UHNI), and family office client relationships; ensure strong wallet share, long-term relationship curation, and client satisfaction
Act as trusted financial advisor to clients, providing customized investment solutions based on risk profile, market trends, asset allocation strategies, and long-term financial objectives
Conduct comprehensive financial needs analysis, risk profiling, portfolio reviews, and wealth planning for clients; orchestrate complex financial solutions that preserve and grow client legacy
Drive revenue and AUM targets for wealth management products including mutual funds, PMS, AIFs, bonds, structured products, deposits, insurance, and banking products
Lead cross-functional collaboration with product, research, tax advisory, estate planning, and legal teams to ensure seamless execution of complex wealth structuring, asset allocation, and investment strategies
Develop and implement growth strategies to expand firm's client base, AUM, market share, and geographic footprint within wealth management landscape
Monitor key performance metrics including AUM growth, revenue attainment, client acquisition, retention rates, product penetration, and program profitability; ensure operational efficiency and compliance
Serve as primary point of contact for clients' investment needs and advice; responsible for increasing share of wallet from existing clients through cross-selling and deepening relationships
Lead end-to-end execution of multiple wealth management transactions including reviewing valuation and financial analysis, coordinating due diligence, drafting marketing and board materials, and managing internal deal teams and external parties
Cultivate and manage portfolio of UHNW clients by providing tailored investment advice aligned with their long-term financial objectives, risk appetite, and legacy goals
Partner with senior bankers and leadership to advance client dialogues, deliver strategic advice, and coordinate complex multi-product solutions
Oversee processes to deliver month-end results, forecasts, budgets, and financial analysis on revenues, expenses, headcount, and profitability modeling for wealth management business
Develop and track performance metrics, create presentations, and provide financial analysis on variety of topics to senior management; perform variance analysis to understand key drivers of results
Prepare materials for internal leadership meetings (Business Reviews) and external forums (Investor Day); create ad-hoc analysis and presentations for senior management
Enhance controls, streamline processes, introduce automation, and improve consistency and efficiency across wealth management processing and reporting
Manage and develop Associates, Analysts, and junior relationship managers; provide ongoing training, mentoring, performance feedback, and succession planning
Act as technical subject-matter expert on wealth management accounting, regulatory topics, core corporate finance, and capital markets concepts
Own delegation, quality control, and risk management for transaction execution and client deliverables; enforce review gates and ensure compliant handling of MNPI, conflicts/KYC, and recordkeeping
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (KYC, AML, HKMA, MAS, SEC, FINRA) and maintain high standards of client service, risk management, and compliance
Typical Profile:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field required; MBA, CFP®, CFA, or advanced certifications strongly preferred
18+ years of progressive wealth management, private banking, investment advisory, or financial services leadership experience
10+ years in senior wealth management leadership roles (VP, SVP) with P&L, AUM, or revenue accountability
Deep expertise in wealth management, investment advisory, portfolio management, asset allocation, and financial planning for HNI/UHNI clients
Strong knowledge of wealth management products (mutual funds, PMS, AIFs, bonds, structured products, insurance, deposits) and regulatory frameworks (KYC, AML, fiduciary standards)
Proven track record acquiring and managing UHNW client relationships, growing AUM, and achieving revenue targets
Experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with product, research, tax, legal, and compliance functions
Excellent leadership, communication, and executive presence; ability to influence senior stakeholders and build trust with UHNW clients
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making mindset
Experience in relevant industry verticals (private banking, wealth management, asset management, investment banking, financial services)
Proficiency in wealth management platforms, CRM systems, portfolio management tools, and financial modeling
Strategic thinker with hands-on execution mindset; comfortable operating in complex, regulated environments
Strong relationship management, negotiation, and business development skills
Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, stakeholder engagements, and team interactions
Key Metrics:
Assets Under Management (AUM) growth and net new assets
Revenue attainment and profitability (fee income, commission, spread)
Client acquisition, retention, and wallet share growth
Product penetration and cross-sell ratios
Client satisfaction (NPS, CSAT) and relationship depth
