Full Stack Engineer

Full-Stack Developer | Climate Tech Startup
Stira is building our carbon accounting infrastructure, and we want you to be a part of it!
We’re looking for a Full-Stack Developer with 3-4 years of experience to join us on a contractual basis, with the potential for a full-time role based on performance and mutual fit.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with the founders and product team. You’ll have meaningful ownership across the frontend, backend, database, integrations and overall product experience.
What we’re looking for
Required:
3-4 years of professional experience in full-stack web development
Strong experience building and shipping web applications
Experience with modern frontend and backend development
Experience working with databases and designing data structures appropriate for the product
Experience designing and working with APIs and integrations
Experience taking features from development through deployment
Strong understanding of application architecture, authentication, authorization and data security
Experience developing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub
Comfortable collaborating closely with founders, and other team members
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make pragmatic technical decisions around cost, scalability and product requirements
Ability to work independently in a fast-moving startup environment
We’re less concerned about a specific tech stack and more interested in whether you can evaluate the right tools and technologies for the job. There will be room to make technical decisions based on the product’s requirements, cost and scalability rather than working within a predetermined stack.
Strong plus if you have
Experience working in climate tech, sustainability, carbon accounting, ESG or energy
Familiarity with GHG Protocol, Scope 1/2/3 emissions or carbon accounting
Experience building B2B SaaS platforms
Experience building data-heavy dashboards or analytics products
Experience building workflow, approval or verification systems
Experience with cloud infrastructure and deployment
Experience working in an early-stage startup where you’ve had significant product ownership
You do not need to be a climate expert. Curiosity about climate, sustainability and carbon accounting is more important than having worked in the sector before.
